We are off to a great a start to 2012! So far this year, we have licensed ten new captives, eight of which were formed in the first quarter which is the strongest start we've seen since 2005. Interest at this year’s RIMS conference was very strong and it also provided a great way to see so many of our clients and friends. The ice cream at the Vermont booth continued to be a big hit at the show. Dave was recently recognized by Captive Review magazine as the Third Most Influential person in the Captive Insurance Industry and Sandy has returned to the office after being out on medical leave. The good news keeps coming about Vermont! We continue to be busy and look forward to your calls.

Vermont's Captive Insurance Industry Off To Best Start Since 2005

First quarter licensure of new captive insurance companies is off to a strong start with eight new captive licenses in 2012, according to data released by the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation (formerly BISHCA). Vermont’s legislature has also passed new captive insurance legislation that has been signed into law by Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin. Click here to read more.
